IMM 1/22/11

In My Mailbox, hosted by The Story Siren nudges me to post and share ALL about my week.  Because my life revolves around reading and the opportunities I have to read.  Like while my husband is having surgery on his foot.  Then while he is coming out of the anesthesia and keeps mumbling semi-coherent incomplete sentences and I have to occasionally look up from my Kindle and check if he's really coherent or still pretty much anesthetized.

He was still pretty much anesthetized.

So - thanks to hospital waiting rooms and recovery rooms, along with sleeping husbands, this week I read:
The Demon Trapper's DaughterIs the Internet Changing the Way You Think?: The Net's Impact on Our Minds and FutureThe Mind Readers, A Young Adult Paranormal RomanceThe Iron Queen (Harlequin Teen)

AND the newspaper!  I am proud to report that some brilliant idiot (there's an oxy-moron) paced the mall carrying his semi-automatic because he could.  I'm thinking he has more issues than just proving that he could carry the gun for all to see and second ammendment rights.  I can't prove it, but my mind immediately travels to Dell Schanze.  Don't know who he is?  Click here.  This is serious stuff.  You didn't click?  I'll give you a second chance.  Right HERE.

It just makes a girl proud to be in the state where a man who claims to have a direct line to God and wants to use this Heavenly Gift to bless (*cough*) his fellow country folk by serving as mayor in his town so he can preach fire, brimstone, and capitalism (for good measure).  Speaking of country folk, I can also boast a close proximity to the large and buxom family featured on Sister Wives.  In fact, I was in a store before Christmas and Kody walked in with Robyn and two teenagers (his second wife's kids).

I so could not make this stuff up.

Meanwhile, back in my make-believe world, this week I will review:

Lock and KeyAngel Harp: A NovelSundays at Tiffany'sHere Lies Bridget (Harlequin Teen)The Book of Tomorrow: A Novel

If I hit a wall this week, I'll just return to the newspaper.

Hope hubby's doing OK with his recovery! Great books for review this week; I got Book of Tomorrow a while back but haven't gotten to it yet.
