Top Ten Tuesday

This Top Ten Tuesday is brought to you by me, A Musing Mother but the brain child of The Broke and the Bookish. The subject being near and dear to my heart, I knew I just must participate. It has to do with my piles of TBR (To Be Read).

{Play the trumpets} Top Ten Books Cluttering my Bookshelf (es) that I really want to read but haven't done so because I'm a loser:
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
My daughter read it and loved it. But it's still mine. Mine. I'm quite possessive. And I don't know why I haven't read it.

Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1)
Other Words for Love

Other Words for Love

Sisterhood Everlasting (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, #5)

Do I have to read the first 4 books to understand this number 5? I hope not.

The Iron Knight (Iron Fey, #4)

The Iron Knight (Iron Fey #4)

Is it not time for a happier ever after, at last? Can Megan and Ash FINALLY be together?  Please?

Catherine the Great: Portrait of a Woman

Catherine the Great: Portrait of a Woman

The Summer Garden (Tatiana and Alexander, #3)
Under the Never Sky

Under the Never Sky

So this one is probably next.

Little Princes: One Man's Promise to Bring Home the Lost Children of Nepal

The Garden Tomb

The Garden Tomb

I'll get to them. Really, I will. But first I think I will sleep. Just for tonight.

Peculiar Children is one I'd like to get to in the New Year. I'm holding out for Santa to bring it ;)

Ooh you have some good books on your list. I read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children and liked it.

My daughter stole my copy of Miss Peregrine's also. I haven't seen it since! I have The Sisterhood book too but like you haven't read the others. I have seen the movies and loved them so I am hoping that will be all I need to read the new book.

I still haven't read Hex Hall yet, it is a book that has been sitting on my shelf for around a year.

This is my 1st week participating in Top 10

You will like Iron Knight. :)

As far as Sisterhood Everlasting...I REALLY recommend reading the first book. I don't think you need to read the middle three necessarily, but I think the impact of the 5th book would be greater if you read the first one. The 5th doesn't go into a lot of backstory and while you could probably follow what is happening I don't think you would really understand the point of the book, you know? Anyways, something to consider. Plus the 1st book is the best of the series anyways. :D

I've read "The Summer Garden," but I did read the entire series in order. I think you will miss out because you won't fully understand the back story of Tatiana and Alexander. I really enjoyed the series overall.

Thanks for checking out my list :) I definitely need to read Sisterhood Everlasting, too. I've read the first 2 I think, so I've got a bit of catching up to do. Hex Hall also seems really interesting, I think I might have to have a read.
New follower as well! Your blog's so cute.

I agree with what's been said about the Tatiana & Alexander series. You gotta read the first two... first. Sets the whole story up. Now, this is coming from the gal who has yet to read the second, let alone third but whatever. You gotta know them first before you do that. The Bronze Horseman is probably my all-time favorite book ever.
