The Castaways by Elin Hilderbrand GIVEAWAY

Greg and Tess MacAvoy are one of four prominent Nantucket couples who count each other as best friends. As pillars of their close-knit community, the MacAvoys, Kapenashes, Drakes, and Wheelers are important to their friends and neighbors, and especially to each other. But just before the beginning of another idyllic summer, Greg and Tess are killed when their boat capsizes during an anniversary sail. As the warm weather approaches and the island mourns their loss, nothing can prepare the MacAvoy's closest friends for what will be revealed.

Once again, Hilderbrand masterfully weaves an intense tale of love and loyalty set against the backdrop of endless summer island life.

Ha, I love how you ended this post...funny. I don't like boats so I won't be going out on one any time soon, but this story looks like a good one.

I don't really have a favorite beach but I do love the Oregon coast!

Hi Miss Little Ray of Sunshine,

I think my favorite beach is the one in front of the Westin on Grand Cayman... they have a waitress there that brings you frozen drinks... sweet Heaven on Earth, I tell ya!

Since my anniversary is in Feb, there will be no boat rides, so I am good to go with reading this story :-)

My favorite beach isn't actually a beach. We have a local lake around here that has a part that is beached off. Its quite, no waves and perfect for my little ones.

Alright, Little Miss Mary Sunshine!! LOL!! Thanks for the smile!

I know that it's dirty and touristy and all of that, but Malibu Beach is still my favorite, probably because it was the first real beach I'd ever gone to, and seeing it in person after seeing it on the screen and reading about it in books was just mind-blowing to me at the time (This was hmmmmm....almost 25 years ago). I think it's my favorite for the way it made me feel to actually BE there!

My favorite beach is Edgewater here in Cleveland. Doesn't have all the touristy shopping, but is a great stretch of sand in all weather and has fantastic views of downtown.

Thanks for the chance to win!

Now I'm crabby from reading all the comments because I feel like I haven't been anywhere! West Coast beaches are SOOO 1980's... :-) Fortunately I remembered I've been to Hawaii, but my favorite beach is still Cannon Beach in Oregon because it's the beach of my childhood.

Sounds like a wonderful read; thanks for the opportunity!

Two favorite beaches:

inland: Cherry Beach (private) on Lake Michigan
My grandmother has a cottage in southwestern Michigan with access to this beach and our family loves it there. Lake Michigan just heals me!

ocean: Jensen Beach, Florida
honeymooned there, waded into cove off the island just off the coast, saw puffer fish, turtles and the porpoises came in to feed and swam right next to me!

I've only been to beaches in Michigan. I favorite is the one at Stoney Creek Beach, also anything along Lake Michigan up north. I'd love to travel to some of the nicer beaches down south !

I personally am not a fan of going to the beach. While I think they are beautiful, I never enjoy myself! I am allergic to the sun, and laying on the beach reading a book would be great, if I didn't have to wear a long sleeved shirt, pants, wide brim hat and sit under a huge umbrella!
