For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her...until Patch comes along.
With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment, but after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is far more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.

My take: Fallen Angel bad boy stalking not-so-striking girl in a crowd. One small problem - he wants to kill her or maybe he falls in love with her. It's a common theme in YA fantasy books. Love triangle is pretty secondary and Patch, the Fallen Angel is brooding and secretive. He is not, however, as secretive as other YA fantasy books. He is suggestive and sexy which the mother in me cringes over. He is also suggestive and sexy and the teenager in me loves it.

There is a lot of innuendo and the overall tone is pretty Romeo and Juliet.  Star-crossed, can't ever really work out and If-I-lose-you-I-can't-live. This feeds into the hyper-hormonal teenage girl with hyper-firing dendrites and extreme moods.  But that's the mom talking again.

I must admit that I'm liking the fallen angel theme better than the werewolf theme and infinitely better than the vampire theme. I'm ready for Luce (another series) and Nora to finish up their trilogies so I can stop wondering what these fallen angels are all about. Speaking of comparing apples to apples, although Hush Hush is not as paranormal as Torment, at least more answers are given and I didn't finish the book with a frustrated, "What?" Much more satisfying.
