Fancy Pants by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This is an interesting book but the protagonist is pretty self-centered and difficult to like. Well written for the era (1980's) with era type storyline (Dyansty-type characters). Francesca's journey spans decades and she begins as a little princess conceived illigitimately, made legitimate but then he dies, mother doesn't grow up and daughter learns the power of "pretty." Protagonist is irritating, spoiled and whiney. She gains redeeming qualities as the book progresses but I never really cared much about her.
Easy, fun read. Take it to the beach.
