My favorite fairy tale is Cinderella because it is the ultimate fantasy story. Poor girl treated like crap and swept away from her horrible situation by a handsome prince? Sign me up! :o)

Snow White & Rose Red is a good one but I think mine has to be The Steadfast Tin Soldier...I love Hans Christian Anderson. So many of his still make me cry..

One of my favorite fairytales would have to be Beauty and the Beast. Great story...and how cool is it that the Belle is bookish like most of us? ^_^

Thanks for the chance!
Happy reading.

Oh, I so want to win this book; it sounds so intriguing and I always loved this fairy tale best. A girl walking through a mysterious forest, going to visit her grandmother, and then finding that her grandmother is gone. When I was in elementary school, I'd skip out on recess, go to the library, and take out all the old fairy tale books that contained these wood engravings that fascinated me for days. I'd have trouble sleeping that night, because while there is beauty in these stories, there is also horror. Little Red Riding Hood is what got me reading the werewolf myths in later years, something I never quite grew out of. I remember poring over the Sabine-Gould book when I was in 6th grade, and then having to sleep with the lights on, every so often saying the Lord's Prayer...lol...

Anyhow, this looks like a GREAT book.

I'm dying to see this movie and read the book! Favorite fairy tale? I love that one, East of the Sun, West of the Moon but when I was a kid I was all about Sleeping Beauty. :)

Thanks!

It depends on the day. My favorite rotates between:

1. The Little Mermaid
2. Beauty and the Beast (think Robin McKinley/Disney version)
3. 12 Dancing Princesses

And if I'm feeling like being different from everyone else, then it's a Grimm's Fairy Tale called "Jorinda and Joringle".

My favourite fairytale is Beauty & the Beast (and any variations thereof), without a doubt. Always loved it, always will.

My favorite fairy tale has always been The Little Red Riding Hood actually. I love the darkest aspects to the story and how each variation as you look through the classics, contains subtle undertones of more psychological aspects that morph it into more than just a children's tale.
